Pure freedom of movement in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region

The Nuremberg Metropolitan Region has excellent connections – literally. You don't need to have a car to get around. The "Verkehrsbund Großraum Nürnberg" public transport service covers the entire area of the Metropolitan Region. Trains will carry you from the suburbs to the city centre, busses from village to village or from one urban district to another.

Quite a few of the larger companies have an agreement with the local public transport service allowing their employees to buy long-term tickets at a discounted rate. And during the summer months, you can easily and safely switch to cycling. Not only does the pan-European cycling route run through the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region for 320 kilometres – our cities and rural districts also cater to cyclists with generously proportioned and well-maintained cycling lanes.
