Transport & Planning Forum
The Transport & Planning Forum of the European Metropolitan Region Nuremberg currently has 54 members, including logistics companies, infrastructure operators, chambers of commerce and industry, transport companies, elected representatives, administrations, regional planning and scientific organisations. The forum focuses on the following areas:
Trans-European traffic network / quality of connections to and from the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region
General overview of transport activities with neighbouring or transnational metropolitan regions; pooling and supervision of initiatives related to trans-European network traffic; coordination of transport policy activities related to said traffic.
Transport infrastructure
Expansion and optimisation of transport infrastructure (rail, road, water, air and intermodal) in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region
Traffic management
Pooling of traffic management tasks within the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region; improving incident management and cooperation in questions related to traffic control
Local public transport
Expansion of the Verkehrsverbund Grossraum Nürnberg (VGN) integrated public transport system to achieve full coverage of the area comprising the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region
